“Christmas is about giving from the heart more than giving from the store.”

It was a freezing December night before Christmas where a family of four sat on the roadside: two kids, a mother and a father, hungry and feeble. While the whole neighbourhood was up and ready to celebrate the most awaited festival of the season, the four of them just watched helplessly.  As the night turned a little darker and colder, they eventually  fell asleep with the warmth of hope, not blankets.

The following  morning when the children opened their eyes, they couldn’t help but have a wide smile on their face,  something which was missing since a lot of days. To their surprise they saw bags full of warm clothes, toys and food. The secret santa had brought smiles and happiness to this unprivileged family.

This secret santa could be me, you or anyone else who wishes to share their happiness and celebrate Christmas by helping  the ones in need by indulging in charity.

Millions of people give to charity on a regular basis especially during  the holiday season to support causes they believe in, as well as for the positive effect it has on their own lives.

Being generous also makes us feel better about ourselves. Generosity is both a natural confidence builder and a natural repellent of self-hatred.

Here is a list of 5 simple things you can do this festive season to give back to the society:

  1. Bake treats for your helper.
  2. Donate money and clothes at your desired local ngo.
  3. Volunteer at a charity event.
  4. Sponsor a child’s education.
  5. Spend time at an orphanage or an old-age home.

“This Christmas give to your enemy ,FORGIVENESS, to an opponent ,TOLERANCE, to a friend ,YOUR HEART, to a customer ,SERVICE, to all, CHARITY, to every child, a GOOD EXAMPLE, to yourself, RESPECT.”
