Menstrual Hygiene Session And Sanitary Pads Distribution At Kurar Village School

Women Health, Sanitation and Hygiene Educational Program {WHSHEP}

Umang Foundation Trust is working towards creating a culture that welcomes discussion and makes adequate education for girls which is of equal importance. Not having access to menstrual hygiene management products can keep girls home from school during their period each month so a period should never stop girls from going to school or enjoying their rights is our mission. It is a subject, surrounded by silence and shame, that also restricts women’s access to normal activities and services.

An educational drive on sanitation & hygiene in the chawls for the women and girl to educate and empower them on menstrual hygiene

Women’s health needs to be front and center – it often isn’t, but it needs to be.

We have been conducting WHSHEP at schools like Matoshri Vidya Mandir, Kurar Village, Mulinche Samarth Vidyalaya and in Chawls. Join hands with our WHSHEP initiative and help us spread awareness on Menstrual Hygiene in more schools and chawls like these.

Introducing Menstrual Cups

image (3).png

Menstrual Hygiene is a very important topic and most of the women in slum areas have less knowledge about it. Along with keeping the hygiene in place we also look forwards to take care of the environment. We introduced menstrual cups to women. We conducted our first session on menstrual cup wherein we called in a professional doctor to take session and demonstrates the process to make it easy to understand and also motivated the women to try menstrual cups instead of Sanitary pads as they are much safer and Eco-friendly. We successfully distributed menstrual cups to the women and they were very happy to have this change.

We continue to do the same in many areas so that many more girls and women can come forward and use menstrual cups.
